SAD NEWS - Vincent Warren has passed away
Canada"s Dance world has lost one of it's most beloved figures. Vincent Warren passed away Oct. 25 at the age of 79. Vincent was an exceptional dancer with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and continued his career in later years to become a leading teacher, mentor Dance historian and founder of the Library of Dance at Ecole Superiure.
I knew Vincent as a mentor for the Ottawa Dance Theatre, when I was artistic director, and when his good friend Dwight Shelton was ballet Master and choreographer with our company from 1980-85. Vincent was often present at many performances and offered positive feedback and encouragement to us all. In recent years I would often bump into him at the NAC when he would come to Ottawa and also attend Dance conferences over the years.
He was, and continues to be, an inspiration to us all. He is missed. - Judith
