SAD NEWS - Vincent Warren has passed away
Canada"s Dance world has lost one of it's most beloved figures. Vincent Warren passed away Oct. 25 at the age of 79. Vincent was an exceptional dancer with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and continued his career in later years to become a leading teacher, mentor Dance historian and founder of the Library of Dance at Ecole Superiure.

I knew Vincent as a mentor for the Ottawa Dance Theatre, when I was artistic director, and when his good friend Dwight Shelton was ballet Master and choreographer with our company from 1980-85. Vincent was often present at many performances and offered positive feedback and encouragement to us all. In recent years I would often bump into him at the NAC when he would come to Ottawa and also attend Dance conferences over the years.

He was, and continues to be, an inspiration to us all. He is missed. - Judith

We are especially proud of Olivia Chiasson, who achieved the Advanced 2 level of the RAD vocational training , in less than a year. We all wish her good luck in her future endeavors!

Intensive Study Enrichment program:
Over the years ODCS has periodically been able to offer a full-time (i.e., Monday through Saturday) Enriched Ballet program for students who have auditioned for, been accepted by professional training Schools or who wish to audition for serious full-time Ballet studies.

There are stringent physical requirements for this program as well as a serious commitment to attend the full course of study - regular Intensive courses are also pre-requisite and part of the curriculum. Students must be min.age 10 and Grade 4-5 level RAD ballet-entry level.

If you wish to audition please pick up an application form at the ODCS office or from your teacher, following March Break. Auditions will be held mid-April. Students will be required as per regular Intensive Study Program, to attend Summer School with ODCS and/ or an approved professional Training school in 2014.

*Intensive Study Student Requirements: remain as in previous years-min.3 Ballet, Modern, Character plus option.
