Taking the Stage

Tonight was the inaugural performance of a very special project that has been culminating over the past 10 weeks. Students from Ottawa Dance Centre School and Académie de danse de l’Outaouais came together to create a Student Ensemble. The works ‘Celebration’ and ‘Empowering Elegance’, choreographed by ODCS’ Artistic Director, Rebecca Middleton, were performed tonight for the very first time.

It has been so special to see students of ODCS and ADO come together and work as an ensemble to create two fantastic pieces. Both ‘Celebration’ and ‘Empowering Elegance’ will also be performed in Ottawa Dance Centre Schools’ End of Year performances on June 8th and 9th at the LabO Theatre. We are so excited to see the students’ present these works together tonight as ‘one’.
