The Tiny Dancer’s Club

A joyful first step into the world of dance!

This class is specially designed for our youngest movers, babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, to explore rhythm, music, and movement in a playful and supportive environment. With gentle guidance from our teacher, children are free to move in ways that feel natural to them, while parents or caregivers join in the fun.

What makes Tiny Dancer’s Club unique is that it’s a class for both parent and child.

Together, you’ll stretch, bounce, sway, and explore movement as a team, building special moments of connection along the way. Some children may leap right in, while others may prefer to observe, cuddle, or simply listen to the music, and all forms of participation are celebrated. It’s not about doing it “right,” but about sharing joy, creativity, and the magic of dance together.

A Note from Our Director, Rebecca Middleton

“When my son was just two months old, I had to return to work and step back into the dance studio. Most days, he came with me, and for the first year of his life, he grew up surrounded by music, movement, and dancers. At first, he would watch from his carrier as the older students practiced their pliés. Later, he’d spend tummy time on a mat in the studio, and now he’s racing across the floor while the dancers work at the barre.

Of course, there were little distractions along the way, but the joy it has brought both of us has been immeasurable. I’ve watched him light up with curiosity and awe as he observed the dancers, and even at home while I choreograph, he’s grinning with wide eyes and sometimes even showing off his own little moves. I truly believe that growing up in the studio has been a gift for his development, sparking creativity, confidence, and a love for movement.

That experience inspired me to create the Tiny Dancer’s Club. A place where parents and children can share those magical moments together. It’s not about doing things perfectly; it’s about being present, moving together, and letting little ones discover dance in their own way.”

Location and Amenities

Our Tiny Dancer’s Club takes place at the Nepean Creative Arts Centre – Studio 1, located at 35 Stafford Road, Ottawa, ON. The centre is fully accessible and family-friendly, with an accessible washroom and change table, accessible parking on-site, and change rooms available.

Strollers are welcome in the building, we just ask that wheels are cleaned before entering the studio, especially during the winter months to help protect our dance floors.

Why not at the ODCS Studios? Our studios are used by De La Salle students during the day!

Attendance

We want this class to be a special experience for both children and their grown-ups. Each child may be joined by up to two adults in the studio. Parents and guardians are asked to remain with their child for the duration of the class, as little ones should not be left unattended. This way, families can enjoy the activities together while ensuring children feel safe and supported.

Participation

Tiny Dancer’s Club is an active, movement-based class for little ones and their caregivers. Because the program welcomes children of all ages, from babies to preschoolers, families are encouraged to decide how their child participates. Some children may move and dance along right away, while others may prefer to watch, be held, or join in gradually, all are wonderful ways to take part.

Adults are also welcome to move, stretch, and dance along at their own comfort level. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that’s easy to move in.
